Some people believe that job satisfaction is more important than job security. Others believe that people cannot always enjoy their jobs and that a permanent job is more important. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. 20170114
Although majority of job seekers long for jobs with both satisfaction and security, nearly all positions can only offer one of the two. Among all those who are seeking for jobs, there thus emerges a debate whether satisfaction from jobs is of more significance than stability.
For one thing, it is generally known that job satisfaction contributes substantially to both people's life quality and career success. To start with, all employees in this present-day society must spend a considerable proportion of their time on their work, so that once people are able to gain sufficient enjoyment from their jobs, they are more likely to have more positive and affirmative attitudes toward their life. By analogy, their life quality can be elevated enormously. On top of this, people with jobs full of satisfaction have more possibilities to achieve their career success. The prime cause is that those people are willing to devote their time and energy to their work, and due to their efforts they will naturally achieve more than others.
For another, advocates for job security argue that permanent jobs imply stable and constant income, which can be thought to be the most considerably basic foundation of their living. Without it, people might suffer from financial stress, therefore resulting in the fact that they may pay less attention and energy to their work. Notwithstanding, admittedly stable jobs usually refer to some repetitive and monotonous positions without any novelty that can arouse people's interest. Namely, people with jobs like this will lose their enthusiasm day by day to their work, subsequently causing that they will be washed out by their work reluctantly or they may give up their jobs voluntarily. Hence, putting emphasis on job stability only is not rational at all.
To sum up, as to job hunters, obviously job satisfaction ought to be given the priority in most cases, and meanwhile job security can only provide a stable income and spark off a greater loss for them.
