Students in school or university learn more from classes of teachers than other resources (e.g. Internet or TV).

Do you agree or disagree?

Introduction

Pupils in this day and age are bombarded with an enormous amount of data, whereby they must sift through to determine which information is accurate. Due to living in the Information Age, the traditional student-teacher relationship has been altered and youth are increasingly more responsible for obtaining value in their education.

Body

Teachers have the capability of explaining points in a deeper way and not only provide theoretical knowledge but also practical experience about life. Moreover, professors have accumulated a large body of intelligence that is profoundly more precise than other sources, specifically as their expert opinions trump the unverified perspectives found in various forms of media. The conventional role of instructors, in this day and age, has evolved to become evaluators and facilitators, guiding students in their academic and personal efforts.

With the advent of the Internet and other telecommunications technologies, there is a vastly growing wealth of resources available from an immense range of media outlets. As a result, students have the ability to absorb information in a quicker and more efficient method when researching on their own, through reading publications or browsing webpages online. Moreover, conducting research is an active process, which allows youngsters to focus in greater detail rather than passively listening to a lecture in a large classroom, not to mention the extensiveness of learning methods attainable.

Conclusion

In my view, both methods provide unique and valuable opportunities foryoung people to acquire awareness of the societies they live in. Educators havethe power to shape students’ minds meanwhile self-study has the potential foryouth to be exposed to opposing opinions to reinforce concepts presented inclasses.
