【作文题目】Although more and more people read news on the Internet, newspapers will remain the most important source of news for the majority of people. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

   Recently, the electronic media is developing at an amazing rate, which has a strong influence  on our life and society. However, some people argue that the print media, especially newspapers, is still the principal source for the public  to obtain information.

The first reason that can be seen by every person is that there are too many information which people are bombarded with on the Internet, it is hard for individuals to extract valid ones. In comparison, newspapers can screen numerous data and provide people with the useful and essential one, which meets the real needs of the society.

What is also worth noticing is that, compared with those false information appearing on the  network,  newspapers have much more credibility. As the mouthpiece of the governments and organizations,  newspapers promote the publicity of the public policy and the social stability, which makes them more trustworthy. Even today, a official notice or policy which is already published on the website before has to be made by announcement on the newspapers.

The third and very important reason is newspapers prevent us from some diseases which relate to the computers and phones, it is widely acknowledged that exposing to the screens for a long term often leads to poor eyesight, tenosynovitis and stiff neck, which makes people suffer from needless pain. In addition, just like printed books, sometimes, newspapers have collect value for certain group of people.

From the information above, we can conclude that, although newspapers have some drawbacks, for example, poor time effectiveness, limited capacity and high cost, it still can maintain its leading  position in the source of news for the majority.
