首先会被问到的问题包括name,home, hometown, work or study这四类。其次关于平时的爱好(likes/hobbies)以及休闲时的活动(leisure/spare time)会被重点提及。

Well, for this question, I’d like to mention my mother, a lady who speaks Japanese quite well. However she seldom uses Japanese now. She learnt that foreign language almost 30 years ago when she was still a university student. She studied English at that time along with some Japanese. Foreign languages were used often during that period for both academic study and daily life as my mom went to Japan occasionally. Later, she chose a job that was not relevant to Japanese and therefore, her first language, which is Chinese, was used more often in her work rather than the foreign language Japanese. As for the reasons why she can speak a foreign language well, the most significant one is that she is really interested in learning different languages. She is fond of learning new skills especially those related with communication. Since interest is the best teacher, once someone enjoys learning in specific fields, the progress is supposed to be huge. There are also some other reasons. For example, Japanese, to some extent, is similar to Chinese, which is our mother tongue as some Japanese characters are evolved from Chinese. Hence, for Chinese learners, Japanese seems to be easier to learn compared to other foreign languages such as Russian, German and French. In addition, the experience that she visited Japan also helped her learning Japanese owing to the language environment given in Japan as pure language environment was expected to assist language learning. |
