I’d like to say something about the Silk Museum located in Suzhou, where you could get a picture about the process of silk making, and also you may buy some authentic silk products as gifts for your friends. As for how I know about this place, it was just a coincidence. I remember wandering around with my friend in the old downtown area two years ago, a white museum caught our eyes. Since I had always been curious about the process of silk making, so we decided to look around. When we got through the gate, we saw three tall sculptures made of white marble: one girl picking mulberry leaves, another washing the raw silk fabric, the third weaving. As we went on, more vivid demonstrations were arranged to bring the process of silk making into a picture. The museum was tiny and didn’t take us long to browse around, but the delicate design and vivid exhibits were quite impressive. when we were there, it was much less lively than other attractions here,cos we didn’t run into other visitors at all.I think more visitors should be encouraged to go there and look around. It definitely deserves more attention. If my foreign friends asked me to take them around, I would take them there and show them the marvelous history of silk. |
