Describe an ambition you have not achieved yet. You should say: What it is How long you have had it Why you want to achieve it And explain why you haven’t achieved it. |
Well, truth be told, I’ve always been looking forward to learning cooking, and this, for a layman in cuisine as me, could be referred to as an “ambition”. And I did have a plan to learn it one year ago, at that time I bought several books about cuisine on a whim, and I thought by doing that I would start practicing cooking gradually, but it turned out to be a half-hearted effort a week later – I quit the first try. So I took it that I just didn’t have what it takes to be someone who can cook. Then recently it suddenly dawned on me again that I really need to get the hang of this skill because these years so many people have persuaded me to learn it, my mother, my boyfriend, and my BFFs, they said that as a Chinese woman it is a tradition to know how to do all the housework including cuisine, and since I am already 22, it’s time for me to do the preparation for marriage after graduation. Well basically I guess they have a point, besides cooking is in fact something I wanted to learn, so again I made up my mind to study it. But unfortunately the learning has to be postponed for several months, as I’m a senior now and recently I’m currently occupied with my studies, I don’t even have enough time for sleep because of the graduation design, papers and unfinished stuff. What’s more, if I have to learn cooking step by step, I need to have all the tools at hand, but at present I live in the hall of residence at school where the condition doesn’t permit. So basically this ambition is kind of unrealistic for me to achieve by now. Anyway, I think the week after my commencement will be the most possible time for me to start learning cooking. |
